Primitive Picnic Quilt

I am still working on my other project so today you get another old project. This was the second quilt I ever made. I saw it made up as a display and I thought that it was perfect for my husband. My style is definitely more feminine and I liked that this is a little more masculine. Although I have been thinking about how pretty this quilt could be made with some brighter colors. This quilt was all strip pieced. The only thing I changed from the original pattern was to add the narrow red border and used the extra square strips to add another outer border. I rarely follow a pattern exactly...that would be too simple! Have a great day!
