Modern Four Petal Flower Quilt

This project was from Debbie Mumm's book Quick Weekend Quilts. I have had this book for well over a year and I finally got around to making something from it. Let me begin by saying that I did NOT make this quilt in a weekend. I had trouble convincing myself to sit down and applique the flowers...I love applique...in very small doses. Once I finished the flower appliques I was able to finish this quilt quickly. I quilted it on my sewing machine. I quilted in the sashing, around the green squares, in the small black squares, and in the center of the flowers. I still need to put on binding, but I was just so excited to share!
We are going to use this quilt as a wall-hanging in our stair well. I still need to get the hardware to hang it, but will update with another picture once I have it.

The quilt finishes at 44 1/2X 54 1/2.
It says you need 51 x 61 inch batting, but I used 45 X 60 (Crib Size) and it worked no problem! You would need the larger batting if you are going to quilt it using a long arm.

Stayed tuned for my next project!
