10 Minute Table Runner, Fall Wall Hanging, and Burp Cloths

Hello again! I had a great weekend with a friend and we even did a little sewing! We decided that we were each going to make a fall 10 minute table runner. If you google these you will find them everywhere! Here is a link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kfg8BMUakOc. You will be shocked to find that picking out the fabric really does take longer than sewing the actual table runner! These also make great gifts!  Here is mine.

After making this fun table runner I was in the mood for fall. So, I also whipped up this wall hanging using the Classic Tea Leaf Block in the book Vintage Quilt Revival. I still need to quilt and bind it but I am looking forward to finishing it up this weekend.

I had a less than perfect day today and was just feeling a little down and frustrated... that means I needed some therapy... sewing therapy. I recently received some exciting news from my younger sister and have been looking forward to sewing some things for her and my future niece or nephew. My sister-in-law had made many of these when she was pregnant and I really liked them so I thought I would whip some up for her. The fronts are flannel and the backs are towels that I bought and cut up.

Don't pay too much attention to the last picture. It's awful. I just wanted to show you the size it would be when using it. If it were me I would use it towel side up but this made for a prettier picture. Lol. The towel absorbs moisture really well and the flannel helps it stay on your shoulder. Cutting it with curves at the shoulder helps to avoid the bulk of using a normal towel. I am making 8 of these... all are cut but I will be finishing sewing them later this week.

After spending some time in my sewing room I think I am ready to face another day tomorrow. Off to curl up in bed and watch a movie... for about 15 minutes before I fall asleep :). I hope you all have a fantastic week!
